 *Khabar kolkata* : Mohun Bagan Club and Barisha Sporting Club registered comfortable victories in their respective pre-quarterfinal matches to make their way into the quarterfinals of the JC Mukherjee Memorial Trophy T20 tournament on Tuesday. 
  

  
In the first match,  Sayan Sekhar Mondal (54), Ankur Paul (44) were impressive with the bat while Akash Pandey (2-3) was superb with the ball as Mohun Bagan Club beat Belgachia United Club by 113 runs.
  

  
In the second match, Priyanshu Gautam Srivastava (69) and Sandipan (4-34) helped Barisha Sporting Club beat Kidderpore Sporting Club by 4 runs. Arun Chaprana and Saksham Sharma bagged two wickets each for Kidderpore.

 *Khabar kolkata:* The Cricket Association of Bengal(CAB) announced the final two Franchises in the Bengal Pro T20 League.Lux Industries of the Lux Cozi fame and Shyam Steel come together to bag the rights for the seventh team and the final eighth team is awarded to consortium formed by Pritam Industries famous for their Pritam Switches and Jalan Builders, completing the eightFranchises of the League. Snehasish Ganguly, President of the Cricket Association of Bengal expressed his happiness in adding the final two Franchises of Bengal Pro T20 League saying, “It is really great to see such renowned corporate houses come forward and be part of the League. I am more than certain that they will add tremendous value to the League and work with the Association as partners to provide the best platform to the mighty talented cricketers of Bengal.” Bengal Pro T20 League organised by the CAB and exclusively managed by Arivaa Sports, will take place from the 11th to 28th June, 2024. Each Franchise will be fielding both men’s and women’s team. While all men’s matches shall take place at the historic Eden Gardens, women’s matches will be played at the Jadavpur University, Salt Lake Campus Ground. The brand ‘Lux’ a stalwart in the hosiery industry since its inception in 1957, has evolved into a global force, showcasing a market share of approximately 15% in the organized hosiery sector. टी20 विश्व कप के लिए भारतीय टीम का एलान, संजू सैमसन को मौका, रिंकू सिंह बाहर

आईसीसी टी20 विश्व कप के लिए भारतीय टीम का ऐलान कर दिया गया है। मंगलवार 30 अप्रैल को अहमदाबाद में हुई बैठक में 15 सदस्यीय टीम का चयन किया गया। अजीत अगरकर की अगुवाई वाली सेलेक्शन कमेटी ने टीम इंडिया का ऐलान किया। खिलाड़ियों के सेलेक्शन में कप्तान रोहित शर्मा और हेड कोच राहुल द्रविड़ की भी अहम भूमिका रही। कप्तान और कोच से बात करने के बाद ही सेलेक्टर्स ने खिलाड़ियों के नामों पर मुहर लगाई। हालांकि इस दौरान कुछ खिलाड़ियों के हाथ निराशा भी आई। रोहित शर्मा की कप्तानी में भारतीय टीम इस टूर्नामेंट में 5 जून से अपने अभियान का आगाज करेगी।आईसीसी टी20 विश्व कप वेस्टइंडीज और अमेरिका में 1 से 29 जून तक खेला जाना है।

शुभमन गिल-रिंकू सिंह रिजर्व में
सेलेक्शन के साथ ही ये साफ हो गया कि हार्दिक पंड्या टीम के उप-कप्तान होंगे। भारतीय सेलेक्टर्स ने संजू सैमसन पर भरोसा जताते हुए उन्हें केएल राहुल के ऊपर तरजीह दी। केएल राहुल को टी20 वर्ल्ड कप की टीम में जगह नहीं मिली है। रिंकू सिंह भी टीम से बाहर हैं। उनकी जगह शिवम दुबे को मौका मिला है। शुभमन गिल और रिंकू सिंह को 15 सदस्यीय टीम में शामिल नहीं किया गया है। इन दोनों क्रिकेटरों को रिजर्व प्लेयर्स में शामिल किया गया है। तेज गेंदबाज खलील अहमद और आवेश खान भी रिजर्व प्लेयर्स की लिस्ट में शामिल हैं। चारों रिजर्व प्लेयर वेस्टइंडीज और अमेरिका दौरे पर भारतीय टीम के साथ रहेंगे।

ऋषभ पंत को जोरदार प्रदर्शन के दम पर मिली जगह
इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग में कार एक्सीडेंट के बाद वापसी करने वाले ऋषभ पंत ने जोरदार प्रदर्शन के दम पर टी20 विश्व कप का टिकट हासिल किया। चयनकर्ताओं ने उनको प्रमुख विकेटकीपर के तौर पर टीम में जगह दी है। संजू सैमसन दूसरे विकेटकीपर के तौर पर टीम में शामिल किए गए हैं।

भारत ने 2007 में जीता था पिछला टी20 विश्व कप
भारतीय टीम ने पिछला टी20 विश्व कप 2007 में जीता था। यह इस प्रारूप का पहला संस्करण था। 17 साल से भारत इस ट्रॉफी को जीतने के लिए जूझता रहा है। पिछली बार यानी 2022 में भारत सेमीफाइनल में इंग्लैंड से 10 विकेट से हार गया था। अब रोहित शर्मा की अगुआई में यह 15 खिलाड़ी 17 साल के टी20 विश्व कप ट्रॉफी के सूखे को खत्म करने उतरेंगे। भारत ने पिछली बार कोई आईसीसी ट्रॉफी 2013 में जीता था। रोहित एंड कंपनी 11 साल के आईसीसी ट्रॉफी के सूखे को भी खत्म करना चाहेगी।

  এসবি নিউজ ব্যুরো: সিএবি সভাপতি স্নেহাশিস‌ গঙ্গোপাধ্যায় এক এক্স পোস্টে বলেছেন, ‘এই টুর্নামেন্ট শুরু হবে ১১ জুন।ইডেন গার্ডেন্সে প্রথমদিন ছেলেদের একটি ম্যাচ হবে। যেহেতু টি-২০ বিশ্বকাপ শুরু ১২ জুন, তার জন্যই এগিয়ে গেল বেঙ্গল প্রো টি-২০ লিগ। কারণ ১২ জুন টি-২০ বিশ্বকাপে টিম ইন্ডিয়ার ম্যাচ রয়েছে। এই টুর্নামেন্টে মহিলা এবং পুরুষ উভয় টিমই খেলবে। ১১ জুন থেকে যা চলবে ২৮ জুন পর্যন্ত। মোট ১৮ দিন ধরে বেঙ্গল প্রো টি-২০ লিগ চলবে। যেখানে ৮ ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজি অংশ নিচ্ছে। টুর্নামেন্টে মোট ৩১টি ম্যাচ খেলা হবে।১২ জুন থেকে মেয়েদের ম্যাচ শুরু হবে। তা হবে যাদবপুর ইউনিভার্সিটির সল্টলেক ক্যাম্পাসের মাঠে। প্রত্যেক দিন দুটো দলের একটা করে ম্যাচ থাকবে। যা চলবে ২৮ জুন পর্যন্ত। টি-২০ বিশ্বকাপ ফাইনালের একদিন আগে এই টুর্নামেন্ট শেষ হবে।’

KKNB : Cricket in India is not just a sport, it's a religion. The much-awaited Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy 2024 is set to begin on 15th March, 2024 organised by Differently Abled Cricket Council of India which was formally announced today. The trophy was revealed for the same at Taj Bengal, Kolkata.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of several dignitaries including Mr. Arun Lal, Former Indian Cricketer; Mr. Chinmay Nayak, CEO of CAB; Mr. Arun Saraf, Chief Patron of WB Cricket Association for Differently-Abled; Mr. Ravi Chauhan, General Secretary of DCCI; Sqn Ldr Abhai Pratap Singh, Joint Secretary of DCCI; Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Chairman, Corporate Affairs & Communication of DCCI; Mr. Surender Agarwal, Chairman, South India of DCCI & many other eminent personalities.

Disability cricket is a variant of cricket played by individuals with various disabilities. There are specific rules and regulations depending on the type of impairment, but the core gameplay remains similar to traditional cricket. However, amidst the glitz and glamour of mainstream cricket, there exists a segment of cricket enthusiasts who have long been marginalized and overlooked – the differently-abled cricketers. Differently-abled cricket encompasses various forms such as Blind Cricket, Deaf & Mute Cricket, Physical Disability Cricket & Wheelchair Cricket. The Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy 2024 would be played between three states Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal from 15th - 17th March, 2024 at Aditya Academy, Barasat.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Ravi Chauhan, General Secretary of DCCI said, “The Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy is a unique platform that celebrates the talent and determination of physically disabled cricketers. We have always wished to bring change in society in every way possible. We want to create awareness that the differently-abled can do whatever they want to do in life infact even better than a normal person.”

On this occasion, Mr. Arun Saraf, Chief Patron of WB Cricket Association for Differently-Abled said, “I am incredibly honored to be appointed Chief Patron of the West Bengal Cricket Association for Differently-Abled by the DCCI. I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure equal opportunities for all cricketers in West Bengal, regardless of ability.”

'T20 वर्ल्ड कप तक भारत के मुख्य कोच बने रहेंगे राहुल द्रविड़..', BCCI ने कर दिया ऐलान


राहुल द्रविड़ T20 विश्व कप तक भारत के मुख्य कोच बने रहेंगे, जबकि रोहित शर्मा इस बड़े टूर्नामेंट में टीम का नेतृत्व करेंगे, बीसीसीआई सचिव जय शाह ने पुष्टि की है। यह टूर्नामेंट इस साल जून में कैरेबियाई और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में आयोजित किया जाएगा। द्रविड़ का कार्यकाल पिछले साल वनडे विश्व कप के समापन के साथ समाप्त हुआ, जिसमें भारत फाइनल में हार गया था।

BCCI ने उन्हें दिसंबर-जनवरी के दक्षिण अफ्रीका दौरे तक बने रहने के लिए कहा, लेकिन अनुबंध विस्तार की पेशकश नहीं की। शाह ने कहा कि उन्होंने द्रविड़ से बात की है और उन्हें टी20 विश्व कप तक का समय देने की पेशकश की है। जय शाह ने कहा कि, “(2023) विश्व कप के बाद, राहुल भाई को तुरंत दक्षिण अफ्रीका दौरे के लिए रवाना होना पड़ा। हमें बीच में मिलने का मौका नहीं मिला जो आखिरकार आज हुआ।'' उन्होंने पूर्व क्रिकेटर से BCCI अधिकारी बने निरंजन शाह के नाम पर सौराष्ट्र क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन स्टेडियम का नाम बदलने के लिए आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम के मौके पर यह बात कही।



जय शाह ने कहा कि, “आप राहुल द्रविड़ जैसे वरिष्ठ व्यक्ति के अनुबंध को लेकर चिंतित क्यों हैं? राहुल भाई टी20 विश्व कप में कोच बने रहेंगे।' शाह ने यह भी कहा कि वह द्रविड़ से उनके भविष्य के बारे में और चर्चा करेंगे, उन्होंने पहले उनसे बात नहीं करने के लिए व्यस्त कार्यक्रम के कारण समय की कमी का हवाला दिया। एकदिवसीय विश्व कप के बाद, भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ एक टी20ई श्रृंखला खेली और फिर टी20 और टेस्ट श्रृंखला के लिए दक्षिण अफ्रीका के लिए उड़ान भरी। अब वे पांच टेस्ट मैचों के लिए इंग्लैंड की मेजबानी करेंगे। शाह ने कहा कि इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (IPL) फ्रेंचाइजी को अपने केंद्रीय अनुबंधित खिलाड़ियों के लिए बीसीसीआई के कार्यभार प्रबंधन दिशानिर्देशों का पालन करना होगा। यह बोर्ड का आदेश है। उन्होंने कहा, बीसीसीआई सर्वोच्च संस्था है और वह जो भी फैसला करेगी फ्रेंचाइजी को उसका पालन करना होगा क्योंकि बोर्ड फ्रेंचाइजियों से ऊपर है।

*The IPL schedule will be released in two phases, how likely is the tournament to be held outside the country?*

KOLKATA: The Indian Premier League means a chance to watch Virat vs. Rohit, Dhoni vs. Hardik on 22 yards for several days in a row. This year is going to be the 17th edition of IPL. Calculations say that this millionaire league is supposed to start after a couple of months. But the IPL schedule has not been released by the board yet. Lok Sabha elections in India this year. So it has been repeatedly heard that IPL may be held somewhere outside the country.
A part from the schedule, the venue of the upcoming IPL has also not been revealed. This time it has been heard that the IPL schedule will be released in two phases rather than the entire schedule at once.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla had earlier said that the board is in discussion with the Indian government and the home ministry on whether the IPL will be held outside the country. BCCI can inform about the venue of IPL only then. This time it is heard that the IPL schedule may be published in two phases against the Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier it was heard that the IPL could start on March 22 this time. And the final of the tournament could be on May 26. Because T20 World Cup will be held in West Indies and America in June. So BCCI wants to keep some gap between ICC mega event and IPL.

 *CAB felicitates Sir Clive Lloyd*

 Khabar kolkata News bureau : In the last 24 hours, the temperature had plummeted in Kolkata. There was a chill in the air. But the mercury had gone up a few notches at the Eden Gardens on Saturday as the towering personality of Sir Clive Hubert Lloyd walked down the lawns with his leisured ease on to the stage. 

Cricket Association of Bengal was felicitating the living legend from the Caribbeans. 

After a 10 minute audio-visual of the man himself, he was felicitated with a gold wristlet with his name engraved on it and the customery blazer. 
"It is special to return here at Eden Gardens. I played my first series in India here as Captain and played here at Eden. I have so many good memories of this ground. The West Indians love to come to Kolkata for the love that is showered on them. I have felt the same love this time also, and I am overwhelmed. I would like to thank the association for their warmth and love," Sir Clive said.

Like the tough captain he was, he did some straight talking, "I have no qualms with T20. I would love to see the players earning their money. But I would love to see either three or five Test matches in any bilateral series. I would call a T20 an exhibition and a Test match an examination."
He also talked about the distribution of money from ICC so that cricket can flourish and thrive in the Caribbeans, which is a conglomerate of 14 islands. "This is a plea from me, and let's see what happens," he said. 

Sir Clive Lloyd invited the crowd at Eden Gardens to come to the West Indies for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. "I welcome all of you to my country. It is a great atmosphere there. You will be taken care of, and you will enjoy the games there."

Asked what brand of cricket he would like to play if he had his team come here today, he said: "Any brand. I would love to play it all. The crowd loves their cricket here. But I am a Test mach guy."

He also wanted to see Chandrasekhar play T20 cricket today. 

Speaking on the occasion, the CAB President said, "I thank Sir Clive Lloyd for taking out his valuable time to be present at the Eden Gardens. CAB and the Eden Gardens have got a lot of memories with Sir Clive Lloyd. The immediate memory that is coming to my mind as a flashback is that in the year 1974 when Clive Lloyd came as captain to Eden Gardens. The Indian team was led by Nawab Pataudi. 

"That was the West Indies team that had the likes of Greenidge, Richards and this team dominated world Cricket for the next 15 years under his leadership.
That team produced greats like Sir Gordon Greenidge, Sir Vivian Richards, Alvin Kallicharran, Lawrence Rowe. It is Clive Lloyd who has shown the world Cricket how fast bowlers can make an impact during that time. 

"The introduction of Sir Andy Roberts, supported by Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Colin Croft, and later Malcolm Marshall. These were the players of 70s and 80s who played under Clive Lloyd with tremendous control on the game. The way he handled all the great players of that West Indies team in that era is something extraordinary."

Sir Clive left the crowd enthralled with his wisdom and humour before retiring for the evening.

While on his way out, Sir Clive was given a guard of honour by 20 age-group cricketers from Bengal.

*Rinku lifts the team from the brink, KKR's Kara hit on day two of Ranji!*

 KHABAR KOLKATA: Two star batsmen of Kolkata Knight Riders had an impeccable performance in the Ranji Trophy. A missed century but lifted the team from the brink. Another experienced batsman KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir trusted. A young and experienced KKR batsman caught the eye on the second day of the Ranji Trophy. Jharkhand's left-arm spinner Anukul Roy contributed a bit in the batting but bowling success was only 1 wicket.
Rinku Singh has recently made his ODI debut for the national team in South Africa. He scored his first career international half-century in T20 cricket against the Proteas. One day series also caught attention. He was kept in the India A team squad but was eventually kept with the Test squad. Rinku was also dropped as a substitute fielder for Centurion. The young batsman is in the thinking of the Indian team management in all three formats.The Proteas are relegated to the Ranji Trophy after returning from their tour. He brought the team from the edge of the ditch.

आईसीसी टी20 विश्व कप के लिए भारतीय टीम का ऐलान कर दिया गया है। मंगलवार 30 अप्रैल को अहमदाबाद में हुई बैठक में 15 सदस्यीय टीम का चयन किया गया। अजीत अगरकर की अगुवाई वाली सेलेक्शन कमेटी ने टीम इंडिया का ऐलान किया। खिलाड़ियों के सेलेक्शन में कप्तान रोहित शर्मा और हेड कोच राहुल द्रविड़ की भी अहम भूमिका रही। कप्तान और कोच से बात करने के बाद ही सेलेक्टर्स ने खिलाड़ियों के नामों पर मुहर लगाई। हालांकि इस दौरान कुछ खिलाड़ियों के हाथ निराशा भी आई। रोहित शर्मा की कप्तानी में भारतीय टीम इस टूर्नामेंट में 5 जून से अपने अभियान का आगाज करेगी।आईसीसी टी20 विश्व कप वेस्टइंडीज और अमेरिका में 1 से 29 जून तक खेला जाना है।

शुभमन गिल-रिंकू सिंह रिजर्व में
सेलेक्शन के साथ ही ये साफ हो गया कि हार्दिक पंड्या टीम के उप-कप्तान होंगे। भारतीय सेलेक्टर्स ने संजू सैमसन पर भरोसा जताते हुए उन्हें केएल राहुल के ऊपर तरजीह दी। केएल राहुल को टी20 वर्ल्ड कप की टीम में जगह नहीं मिली है। रिंकू सिंह भी टीम से बाहर हैं। उनकी जगह शिवम दुबे को मौका मिला है। शुभमन गिल और रिंकू सिंह को 15 सदस्यीय टीम में शामिल नहीं किया गया है। इन दोनों क्रिकेटरों को रिजर्व प्लेयर्स में शामिल किया गया है। तेज गेंदबाज खलील अहमद और आवेश खान भी रिजर्व प्लेयर्स की लिस्ट में शामिल हैं। चारों रिजर्व प्लेयर वेस्टइंडीज और अमेरिका दौरे पर भारतीय टीम के साथ रहेंगे।

ऋषभ पंत को जोरदार प्रदर्शन के दम पर मिली जगह
इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग में कार एक्सीडेंट के बाद वापसी करने वाले ऋषभ पंत ने जोरदार प्रदर्शन के दम पर टी20 विश्व कप का टिकट हासिल किया। चयनकर्ताओं ने उनको प्रमुख विकेटकीपर के तौर पर टीम में जगह दी है। संजू सैमसन दूसरे विकेटकीपर के तौर पर टीम में शामिल किए गए हैं।

भारत ने 2007 में जीता था पिछला टी20 विश्व कप
भारतीय टीम ने पिछला टी20 विश्व कप 2007 में जीता था। यह इस प्रारूप का पहला संस्करण था। 17 साल से भारत इस ट्रॉफी को जीतने के लिए जूझता रहा है। पिछली बार यानी 2022 में भारत सेमीफाइनल में इंग्लैंड से 10 विकेट से हार गया था। अब रोहित शर्मा की अगुआई में यह 15 खिलाड़ी 17 साल के टी20 विश्व कप ट्रॉफी के सूखे को खत्म करने उतरेंगे। भारत ने पिछली बार कोई आईसीसी ट्रॉफी 2013 में जीता था। रोहित एंड कंपनी 11 साल के आईसीसी ट्रॉफी के सूखे को भी खत्म करना चाहेगी।

  এসবি নিউজ ব্যুরো: সিএবি সভাপতি স্নেহাশিস‌ গঙ্গোপাধ্যায় এক এক্স পোস্টে বলেছেন, ‘এই টুর্নামেন্ট শুরু হবে ১১ জুন।ইডেন গার্ডেন্সে প্রথমদিন ছেলেদের একটি ম্যাচ হবে। যেহেতু টি-২০ বিশ্বকাপ শুরু ১২ জুন, তার জন্যই এগিয়ে গেল বেঙ্গল প্রো টি-২০ লিগ। কারণ ১২ জুন টি-২০ বিশ্বকাপে টিম ইন্ডিয়ার ম্যাচ রয়েছে। এই টুর্নামেন্টে মহিলা এবং পুরুষ উভয় টিমই খেলবে। ১১ জুন থেকে যা চলবে ২৮ জুন পর্যন্ত। মোট ১৮ দিন ধরে বেঙ্গল প্রো টি-২০ লিগ চলবে। যেখানে ৮ ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজি অংশ নিচ্ছে। টুর্নামেন্টে মোট ৩১টি ম্যাচ খেলা হবে।১২ জুন থেকে মেয়েদের ম্যাচ শুরু হবে। তা হবে যাদবপুর ইউনিভার্সিটির সল্টলেক ক্যাম্পাসের মাঠে। প্রত্যেক দিন দুটো দলের একটা করে ম্যাচ থাকবে। যা চলবে ২৮ জুন পর্যন্ত। টি-২০ বিশ্বকাপ ফাইনালের একদিন আগে এই টুর্নামেন্ট শেষ হবে।’

KKNB : Cricket in India is not just a sport, it's a religion. The much-awaited Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy 2024 is set to begin on 15th March, 2024 organised by Differently Abled Cricket Council of India which was formally announced today. The trophy was revealed for the same at Taj Bengal, Kolkata.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of several dignitaries including Mr. Arun Lal, Former Indian Cricketer; Mr. Chinmay Nayak, CEO of CAB; Mr. Arun Saraf, Chief Patron of WB Cricket Association for Differently-Abled; Mr. Ravi Chauhan, General Secretary of DCCI; Sqn Ldr Abhai Pratap Singh, Joint Secretary of DCCI; Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Chairman, Corporate Affairs & Communication of DCCI; Mr. Surender Agarwal, Chairman, South India of DCCI & many other eminent personalities.

Disability cricket is a variant of cricket played by individuals with various disabilities. There are specific rules and regulations depending on the type of impairment, but the core gameplay remains similar to traditional cricket. However, amidst the glitz and glamour of mainstream cricket, there exists a segment of cricket enthusiasts who have long been marginalized and overlooked – the differently-abled cricketers. Differently-abled cricket encompasses various forms such as Blind Cricket, Deaf & Mute Cricket, Physical Disability Cricket & Wheelchair Cricket. The Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy 2024 would be played between three states Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal from 15th - 17th March, 2024 at Aditya Academy, Barasat.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Ravi Chauhan, General Secretary of DCCI said, “The Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy is a unique platform that celebrates the talent and determination of physically disabled cricketers. We have always wished to bring change in society in every way possible. We want to create awareness that the differently-abled can do whatever they want to do in life infact even better than a normal person.”

On this occasion, Mr. Arun Saraf, Chief Patron of WB Cricket Association for Differently-Abled said, “I am incredibly honored to be appointed Chief Patron of the West Bengal Cricket Association for Differently-Abled by the DCCI. I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure equal opportunities for all cricketers in West Bengal, regardless of ability.”

'T20 वर्ल्ड कप तक भारत के मुख्य कोच बने रहेंगे राहुल द्रविड़..', BCCI ने कर दिया ऐलान


राहुल द्रविड़ T20 विश्व कप तक भारत के मुख्य कोच बने रहेंगे, जबकि रोहित शर्मा इस बड़े टूर्नामेंट में टीम का नेतृत्व करेंगे, बीसीसीआई सचिव जय शाह ने पुष्टि की है। यह टूर्नामेंट इस साल जून में कैरेबियाई और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में आयोजित किया जाएगा। द्रविड़ का कार्यकाल पिछले साल वनडे विश्व कप के समापन के साथ समाप्त हुआ, जिसमें भारत फाइनल में हार गया था।

BCCI ने उन्हें दिसंबर-जनवरी के दक्षिण अफ्रीका दौरे तक बने रहने के लिए कहा, लेकिन अनुबंध विस्तार की पेशकश नहीं की। शाह ने कहा कि उन्होंने द्रविड़ से बात की है और उन्हें टी20 विश्व कप तक का समय देने की पेशकश की है। जय शाह ने कहा कि, “(2023) विश्व कप के बाद, राहुल भाई को तुरंत दक्षिण अफ्रीका दौरे के लिए रवाना होना पड़ा। हमें बीच में मिलने का मौका नहीं मिला जो आखिरकार आज हुआ।'' उन्होंने पूर्व क्रिकेटर से BCCI अधिकारी बने निरंजन शाह के नाम पर सौराष्ट्र क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन स्टेडियम का नाम बदलने के लिए आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम के मौके पर यह बात कही।



जय शाह ने कहा कि, “आप राहुल द्रविड़ जैसे वरिष्ठ व्यक्ति के अनुबंध को लेकर चिंतित क्यों हैं? राहुल भाई टी20 विश्व कप में कोच बने रहेंगे।' शाह ने यह भी कहा कि वह द्रविड़ से उनके भविष्य के बारे में और चर्चा करेंगे, उन्होंने पहले उनसे बात नहीं करने के लिए व्यस्त कार्यक्रम के कारण समय की कमी का हवाला दिया। एकदिवसीय विश्व कप के बाद, भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ एक टी20ई श्रृंखला खेली और फिर टी20 और टेस्ट श्रृंखला के लिए दक्षिण अफ्रीका के लिए उड़ान भरी। अब वे पांच टेस्ट मैचों के लिए इंग्लैंड की मेजबानी करेंगे। शाह ने कहा कि इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (IPL) फ्रेंचाइजी को अपने केंद्रीय अनुबंधित खिलाड़ियों के लिए बीसीसीआई के कार्यभार प्रबंधन दिशानिर्देशों का पालन करना होगा। यह बोर्ड का आदेश है। उन्होंने कहा, बीसीसीआई सर्वोच्च संस्था है और वह जो भी फैसला करेगी फ्रेंचाइजी को उसका पालन करना होगा क्योंकि बोर्ड फ्रेंचाइजियों से ऊपर है।

*The IPL schedule will be released in two phases, how likely is the tournament to be held outside the country?*

KOLKATA: The Indian Premier League means a chance to watch Virat vs. Rohit, Dhoni vs. Hardik on 22 yards for several days in a row. This year is going to be the 17th edition of IPL. Calculations say that this millionaire league is supposed to start after a couple of months. But the IPL schedule has not been released by the board yet. Lok Sabha elections in India this year. So it has been repeatedly heard that IPL may be held somewhere outside the country.
A part from the schedule, the venue of the upcoming IPL has also not been revealed. This time it has been heard that the IPL schedule will be released in two phases rather than the entire schedule at once.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla had earlier said that the board is in discussion with the Indian government and the home ministry on whether the IPL will be held outside the country. BCCI can inform about the venue of IPL only then. This time it is heard that the IPL schedule may be published in two phases against the Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier it was heard that the IPL could start on March 22 this time. And the final of the tournament could be on May 26. Because T20 World Cup will be held in West Indies and America in June. So BCCI wants to keep some gap between ICC mega event and IPL.

 *CAB felicitates Sir Clive Lloyd*

 Khabar kolkata News bureau : In the last 24 hours, the temperature had plummeted in Kolkata. There was a chill in the air. But the mercury had gone up a few notches at the Eden Gardens on Saturday as the towering personality of Sir Clive Hubert Lloyd walked down the lawns with his leisured ease on to the stage. 

Cricket Association of Bengal was felicitating the living legend from the Caribbeans. 

After a 10 minute audio-visual of the man himself, he was felicitated with a gold wristlet with his name engraved on it and the customery blazer. 
"It is special to return here at Eden Gardens. I played my first series in India here as Captain and played here at Eden. I have so many good memories of this ground. The West Indians love to come to Kolkata for the love that is showered on them. I have felt the same love this time also, and I am overwhelmed. I would like to thank the association for their warmth and love," Sir Clive said.

Like the tough captain he was, he did some straight talking, "I have no qualms with T20. I would love to see the players earning their money. But I would love to see either three or five Test matches in any bilateral series. I would call a T20 an exhibition and a Test match an examination."
He also talked about the distribution of money from ICC so that cricket can flourish and thrive in the Caribbeans, which is a conglomerate of 14 islands. "This is a plea from me, and let's see what happens," he said. 

Sir Clive Lloyd invited the crowd at Eden Gardens to come to the West Indies for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. "I welcome all of you to my country. It is a great atmosphere there. You will be taken care of, and you will enjoy the games there."

Asked what brand of cricket he would like to play if he had his team come here today, he said: "Any brand. I would love to play it all. The crowd loves their cricket here. But I am a Test mach guy."

He also wanted to see Chandrasekhar play T20 cricket today. 

Speaking on the occasion, the CAB President said, "I thank Sir Clive Lloyd for taking out his valuable time to be present at the Eden Gardens. CAB and the Eden Gardens have got a lot of memories with Sir Clive Lloyd. The immediate memory that is coming to my mind as a flashback is that in the year 1974 when Clive Lloyd came as captain to Eden Gardens. The Indian team was led by Nawab Pataudi. 

"That was the West Indies team that had the likes of Greenidge, Richards and this team dominated world Cricket for the next 15 years under his leadership.
That team produced greats like Sir Gordon Greenidge, Sir Vivian Richards, Alvin Kallicharran, Lawrence Rowe. It is Clive Lloyd who has shown the world Cricket how fast bowlers can make an impact during that time. 

"The introduction of Sir Andy Roberts, supported by Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Colin Croft, and later Malcolm Marshall. These were the players of 70s and 80s who played under Clive Lloyd with tremendous control on the game. The way he handled all the great players of that West Indies team in that era is something extraordinary."

Sir Clive left the crowd enthralled with his wisdom and humour before retiring for the evening.

While on his way out, Sir Clive was given a guard of honour by 20 age-group cricketers from Bengal.

 KHABAR KOLKATA: Two star batsmen of Kolkata Knight Riders had an impeccable performance in the Ranji Trophy. A missed century but lifted the team from the brink. Another experienced batsman KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir trusted. A young and experienced KKR batsman caught the eye on the second day of the Ranji Trophy. Jharkhand's left-arm spinner Anukul Roy contributed a bit in the batting but bowling success was only 1 wicket.
Rinku Singh has recently made his ODI debut for the national team in South Africa. He scored his first career international half-century in T20 cricket against the Proteas. One day series also caught attention. He was kept in the India A team squad but was eventually kept with the Test squad. Rinku was also dropped as a substitute fielder for Centurion. The young batsman is in the thinking of the Indian team management in all three formats.The Proteas are relegated to the Ranji Trophy after returning from their tour. He brought the team from the edge of the ditch.
